Biblical Zombies? What does the Bible say on this topic?
Are biblical zombies these undead falling apart blood thirsty brain eating corpses running around?
No probably not, Maybe there are? I dont know the details. I am only clear on what the bible talks about. Lets dive into it.
This event will take place during Wrath.
To analyze the connection between Joel 2 and Revelation 9, we'll examine the descriptions and characteristics of the groups mentioned in both passages.
Joel 2:1-11
In Joel 2, the prophet describes a locust plague that will devastate the land of Judah. However, the locusts are often interpreted as a metaphor for a powerful and destructive army. The passage describes the army as:
-
A great and powerful people (Joel 2:2)
-
A nation that has the appearance of horses (Joel 2:4)
-
With the appearance of horses, but with the teeth of lions (Joel 2:4)
-
They run like mighty men, they climb the wall like men of war (Joel 2:7)
-
They do not jostle one another, every one marches in his own column (Joel 2:8)
-
They run to and fro in the city, they run on the wall, they climb up into the houses (Joel 2:9)
Revelation 9:1-12
In Revelation 9, the apostle John describes a vision of a locust plague that will torment those who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. The locusts are described as:
-
Having the appearance of horses (Revelation 9:7)
-
With crowns like gold on their heads (Revelation 9:7)
-
With faces like the faces of men (Revelation 9:7)
-
With hair like women's hair (Revelation 9:8)
-
With teeth like lions' teeth (Revelation 9:8)
-
With breastplates like breastplates of iron (Revelation 9:9)
-
With the sound of their wings like the sound of chariots (Revelation 9:9)
-
They have tails like scorpions, and there are stingers in their tails (Revelation 9:10)
Similarities and connections
There are several similarities and connections that suggest they might be referring to the same group of people:
-
Both passages describe a locust plague, which is often interpreted as a metaphor for a powerful and destructive army.
-
Both passages describe the locusts as having the appearance of horses (Joel 2:4, Revelation 9:7).
-
Both passages describe the locusts as having teeth like lions (Joel 2:4, Revelation 9:8).
-
Both passages describe the locusts as being a powerful and destructive force that will bring devastation and torment.
Interpretations and conclusions
While the connections between Joel 2 and Revelation 9 are intriguing, it's essential to consider the historical and literary contexts of both passages. Joel 2 is often interpreted as a prophecy about the Babylonian invasion of Judah, while Revelation 9 is often seen as a vision of a future event during the end times.

This is why this theory is not accurate.

Joel 1:1-2
1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

Joel 1:10-11
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
11 And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
The day of the Lord in the bible is almost always in reference to the Wrath of God being played out on the earth.
More evidence that supports that this passage of scripture is talking about Wrath is verse 2 about how there never be another people like that ever again yet we have scripture that links the two in Revelation.
In verse ten we ahve the same type of environment that is going on during wrath, where we have multiple verse talking about the sun, moon and stars in the same type of manner.
Then in verse 11 the same wording is used like it is in Chapter 6 of revelation. " For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible;and who can abide it?
